Skier falls 45 feet from ski lift chair

A 17-year-old teen was injured and hospitalized after falling 45 feet from a ski-lift chair at Ski Santa Fe. The teen was videotaped dangling from the ski-lift chair before plummeting to the ground.

Cody Sheppard, the ski patrol director at Ski Santa Fe, told the Santa Fe New Mexican that the teen was trying to throw a snowball at a ski-lift chair in front of him which caused him to leave his seat.

Sheppard said the teen was transported to the hospital by a helicopter where he was released a few days later.  He told the Santa Fe New Mexican that the teen did not need surgery from any of the injuries.

A video was posted by “TriipyHD” of the teen dangling and falling off of the ski-lift chair on YouTube, according to the Santa Fe New Mexican.
